Brett Hayes focuses on the world above us to create his new show at Gallery Oscar. Painstakingly created using thin layers of oil on canvas, the resulting works are effortlessly appealing. Born and bred in Sydney, Brett has travelled the world to find the inspiration for this show. “Everything from skies in my backyard and around Sydney, to images from Ireland, England and Italy. Skies are different in different places. Irish skies are predominantly grey and tonally reduced, whilst in Australia you get more intensity of colour as well as more oranges, reds and pinks.”
