Proteas

Diana Hallowes works in watercolour and mixed media.  Born in South Africa, she moved to Sydney in 1986 and was managing editor of Australian Artist magazine for four years.

She subsequently studied watercolour, landscape painting, portraiture and experimental techniques with well-known Sydney teachers.  She has participated in group, solo and public exhibitions.

Diana has travelled extensively.  She spent four years in Toronto Canada, where she worked in water media at the Toronto School of Art with Tina Poplawski.  She found the active art scene in Toronto stimulating, and took part in several exhibitions including a studio walkabout art tour and a solo show "Estuary".

Her works hang in many private collections in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and UK.

She has recently won the Lane Cove Art Society's highest honour, the Lloyd Rees Award.
